Artemis Fowl

Artemis Fowl: Part 1

If you’re making a movie based on a book, how far can you reasonably stray from the source material and expect fans to enjoy it? Disney’s Artemis Fowl (2020) attempts to answer that question for Russ and Jared in this week’s episode. Join the guys on their adventure to the land of the fairies, and stay tuned for part 2 on Thursday!

Artemis Fowl

Trailer Trash: Artemis Fowl

Russ and Jared are back again, watching the trailer for Disney’s Artemis Fowl (2020). One of Jared’s favorite childhood book series finally got turned into a movie, but it seems like the folks who worked on the movie never read the books… Definitely not the worst thing that happened in 2020, this fiasco stars Ferdia Shaw, Josh Gad, Dame Judi Dench, and Lara McDonnell.

Conan the Barbarian

Conan the Barbarian: Part 2

Russ and Jared are back with a very special episode of It’s This Meets That! Then unfortunately they’re finishing the travesty called Conan the Barbarian (2011). Jason Momoa, Rose McGowan, and Stephen Lang can’t save the end of this one. Listen in to find out what happens next!

Conan the Barbarian

Conan the Barbarian: Part 1

This week, Russ and Jared are talking about a vengeful barbarian warrior who sets off to get his revenge on the evil warlord who attacked his village and murdered his father when he was a boy. And besides Jared’s backstory, they’re also talking about Conan the Barbarian (2011), starring Jason Momoa, Ron Perlman, Stephen Lang, and Rose McGowan. Stay tuned for part 2 on Thursday!

It’s time for a reboot! This week, Russ and Jared are getting into the trailer for Conan the Barbarian (2011). What was promised to be a new story and retelling actually seems like the same story with some minor tweaks. But at least we can all enjoy the handsome Jason Momoa, the dynamic Rose McGowan, and the terminally evil Stephen Lang. Will expectations be set appropriately by the trailer? Or are the guys going to need more mead?

Hungerford

Hungerford: Part 2

When we last left Russ and Jared, the heroes of Hungerford (2014) had just thrown a person away in the trash. Some heroes they are! Will there be consequences for Drew Casson, Georgia Bradley, or Tom Scarlett? Will the alien brain slugs get their own justice? Will Russ and Jared do British accents? Hopefully not that one, but you’ll find out in part 2!

Hungerford

Hungerford: Part 1

Just like in the movie, Russ and Jared’s lives have been turned upside down after their homes were taken over by the sinister forces responsible for this cinematic catastrophe. Join the guys as they cover Hungerford (2014) with bottom-of-the-billing, but top-of-our-hearts Sam Carter, and also the actual stars, Drew Casson, Georgia Bradley, and Tom Scarlett. Listen to this found footage fun fest!

Lavalantula

Lavalantula: Part 2

When we last left Russ and Jared, it was starting to hit the fan in Lavalantula (2015). Poor Steve Guttenberg dealing with crazed fan, Patrick Renna, and our teenage afterthought characters were about to discover that lavalantulas can lay eggs inside you that will explode from your body. Listen to part 2 to hear about Russ’ worst nightmare coming true and find out what happens to the true hero, Pirate Jack!

lavalantula

Lavalantula: Part 1

It’s worse than they thought. Russ and Jared were excited for this week’s Police Academy reunion–aka Lavalantula (2015), but unfortunately there was too much Patrick Renna and not enough Michael Winslow. Also starring Steve Guttenberg (the Gutes! the Goots?!), Marion Ramsey, Nia Peeples, and thousands of fire-spitting CGI lavalantulas, the fellas were at least entertained by TV-14 gore. Is this movie smarter Russ and Jared think? No, no it’s not.
